I am both a photographer and a sculptor, and while the subject matter of my 2D and 3D work often differs, both are organized around simultaneous sensations of delight and unease. What I am most interested in capturing is the line where desirability meets revulsion and known brushes against unknowable.

For most of my life I have been fascinated with the concepts of the sublime and the grotesque. So much of modern life is now minutely categorized and defined that many people are divorced from – and often actively hostile to – the experience of mystery. In my work I attempt to wrestle some mystery back into the experience of art, in pursuit of viewer experiences that are more readily felt than expressed via language.
